Shredders have become an essential part of any home or office. With the amount of confidential information that we have, the security of this is very important. Gone are the days when you could throw everything out in the rubbish, we never know where the contents of what we throw out will end up. With a shredder you can ensure that the sensitive information disposed cannot be used.
What is a shredder?
A shredders has a pair of cutting blades that rotate, as well as a paper comber and a motor that drives the paper or media through the blades. As the paper or media is fed through the two blades it is split into many pieces by the force of the blades.
Why use a shredder?
There are a number of reasons we need to use a shredder. For personal use in the home, disposing of credit card statements, bills and receipts can deter an identity theft. In an office, confidential client information needs to be disposed of correctly.
What do I need to look for when buying a shredder?
You will need to consider how sensitive is the information, what type of material will you be shredding. Additionally how many people will be using it and how frequently. Generally the more sensitive the information, the smaller you want the shredding to be, and the environment it will be in will determine how robust you want it.
We have split up this site into the following sections:
Personal Shredders
Office Shredders
Industrial Shredders
Strip Cut or Cross Cut?
